Ostrožlík has been an NBS board member since March 1. Between August 2003 and February 2007, he served as chairman and director-general of Privatbanka. He previously worked for Všeobecná Úverová Banka.

The central bank has been operating without a vice governor for monetary policy since March 27, 2006, when Elena Kohútiková's term expired.
