Parliament opened its parliamentary session on February 12 with a draft amendment to the law on land arrangements, which was submitted by SDKÚ-DS MPs Pavol Frešo and Lucia Žitňanská. The MPs say it is in response to the lack of transparency that has existed at the Slovak Land Fund (SPF) for a long time.
The draft stipulates that the SPF be required to publish the contracts on the basis of which the SPF transfers ownership rights to restituted land plots. The SPF must also disclose lease agreements on the basis of which the SPF rents lots, the SITA newswire wrote.
However, parliament refused to move this draft amendment to the second reading.
