Head of Slovak National Party (SNS) and Parliament Speaker Andrej Danko has stomach problems which could prevent him from working in parliament for several days or even weeks.
“After the enormous working pressure caused by the parliamentary elections, the Parliament Speaker underwent a standard medical examination by his doctor Miloš Bubán due to stomach ache,” parliament spokesperson Zuzana Čižmáriková told the Sme daily.

Danko is in the National Oncology Institute (NOU) and the results of the medical examination do not exclude the possibility of surgery, according to NOU spokesperson Viktória Vasilenková.
“It is possible that he will have to undergo surgery,” Vasilenková told the pluska.sk, the tabloid website. “We will inform you about the next steps.”
Prime Minister Robert Fico may also have to undergo bypass surgery, according to cardiologists who were approached by the Sme daily. Fico has been hospitalised in the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bratislava since April 14 and no further information has been provided to the public.
