FINANCE Minister Ivan Mikloš opened the discussion on next year's budget on December 7.
The planned budget income is Sk268.2 billion (€7.06 billion) while the expenditures are projected at Sk330.1 billion (€8.69 billion). The budget deficit would thus be Sk62 billion (€1.6 billion), the SITA news agency wrote.
The coalition parties are ready to support the budget, while the opposition Smer, the Slovak Communist Party and the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia have already stated that they would not support the law.
The coalition, which only has 68 MPs in parliament, relies on the support of the independent MPs to pass the budget.
According to the public broadcaster Slovenský rozhlas, the final vote on the budget should be held tomorrow, December 9.
