THE SLOVAK parliament will discuss the privatization of Bratislava and Košice airports tomorrow, based on an initiative from the opposition Smer party, the SITA news agency wrote.
Smer wants to get parliament to adopt a resolution in which MPs urge the cabinet to halt the bidding process and submit an in-depth analysis of the airports' future development to parliament, also defining the rationale for selling them.
Smer MP Miroslav Číž argues that the airport privatization process is unclear and accompanied by many errors. He pointed to connections between the privatization advisor, Austrian Meinl Bank, and the TwoOne consortium, which includes Vienna Airport, which was the recommended winner of the tender for the 66-percent stakes in the two airports.
