THE PARLIAMENTARY Committee for Incompatibility of Functions cut the salaries of three public officials, all of whom simultaneously held positions as legal representatives in private companies. This is banned by the law.
Former board member of Poľnonákup Tatry a.s., Peter Timko, will have to pay back his six-months’ salary, the SITA newswire wrote on Septemebr 17. A representative of the MH development s.r.o., Ladislav Košecký, was fined one year’s salary for repeatedly violating the law, while Peter Kunkel, chairman of the board of the Technická obnova a ochrana
železníc (Technical Renovation and Protection of Railways), will also lose a year’s salary.
The head of the committee, Viliam Novotný (Slovak Democratic and Christian Union, SDKÚ), told the TASR newswire that they were punished for failing to explain their steps to the committee.
