The Slovak Cabinet will discuss the possibility of paying compensations to the families of victims of the March 2 accident at the Military Repair Company (VOP) in Nováky. Defence Minister František Kašický said on March 6 that he had prepared a document dealing with the damages. The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family will also contribute a one-time compensation of Sk25,000 to the eight families of the VOP employees who have been confirmed dead or who are still missing and assumed dead. There will also be a financial grant given from the Social Affairs Minister, Viera Tomanová’s, humanitarian fund.
