According to the survey, almost 60 percent of respondents approve the reform, a large rise from the 37.1 percent support registered in June of this year, according to the TASR news agency.

A total of 53 percent of those polled said they planned to join the second pension pillar introduced by the reform, while the pension reform in general has been praised as the best of the series of wide-ranging reforms introduced in recent years.

The poll showed that 80 percent of people are aware of the information campaign for the pension plan launched in October.

"The aim of the campaign was to improve people's awareness. In no way did we do advertising for the pension-management private companies," said Martin Danko, the Labour Ministry's spokesman.
