Police charged a man, 51, identified only as Jozef, with inflicting bodily harm on Wednesday, November 14, after he began shooting at two dogs in Bratislava and their owner.
The SITA newswire wrote that the shooting took place on Tuesday shortly before 17:00 between the streets of Bosákova and Černyševského. “A man, 51, shot repeatedly at two dogs running freely in the street. Afterwards a conflict between the dog owner and the man escalated and the man shot at the dogs’ owner, 34, who sustained an injury and was hospitalised,” Bratislava Police spokesperson Petra Hrášková told SITA.
If found guilty, the shooter could face up to ten years in jail.
"Police work with more investigative theories. However, no further details can be released due to the ongoing investigation," Hrášková told the TASR newswire. The man, arrested at the scene by a police patrol, is currently in custody.
