DESPITE Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda delivering Jirko Malcharek's ministerial nomination proposal to the president on Monday, he will have to wait for the president's return from his working trip from USA.
President Ivan Gasparovic has not said exactly when he will confirm Malcharek’s nomination as Economy Minister, the Pravda daily reported.
Malcharek is to replace the temporary Economy Minister Ivan Mikloš who is also the Finance Minister. Mikloš took over the running of the economy ministry after its former minister, Pavol Rusko, was recalled. This followed disputes involving promissory notes worth more than Sk100 million (€2.6 million), both inside Rusko’s ANO party and within the ruling coalition.
