PM Fico leads Slovak delegation at extraordinary EU summit

Prime Minister Robert Fico will lead the Slovak delegation at the extraordinary EU summit on Thursday, November 19. The summit was summoned by Swedish Prime Minister Frederic Reinfeldt, whose country currently holds the EU presidency and is due to focus on personnel issues related to the Lisbon Treaty that will come into effect on December 1, 2009. Two new posts will be introduced - President of the Council of the EU and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The composition of the future EC will be discussed as well, the TASR newswire wrote. According to Reinfeldt, there still isn't any agreement on who should assume the posts and a long list of candidates is on the table after the first round of consultations. TASR
