Prime Minister Iveta Radičová has announced that the government will not draft a proposal to raise the retirement age.
Radičová addressed a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs on March 14 and informed MPs of the results of an extraordinary session of the EC and an informal meeting of eurozone countries held recently in Brussels.
According to Radičová, representatives of the Slovak government in Brussels were able to achieve harmony between the pension systems and demography.
"Joint theses in terms of joint stipulation of the retirement age, etc., are no longer part of the Competitiveness Pact," said Radičová for the SITA newswire.
