Sebastian Mikosz, a representative of the Polish foreign investment agency PAIiIZ, announced the Whirlpool news along with the decision of another firm, Gilette, to produce razors in Poland.

The Warsaw Business Journal compared the competition for the Whirlpool investment to recent fight for the new Hyundai-Kia plant in which Slovakia finally beat Poland.

Slovak investment office officials said they knew of Whirlpool’s interest but no talks had begun.
