A RECENT survey carried out by the CBOS agency showed that just 34 percent of Slovaks think that immigrants should be enabled to settle in this country. This compares to 62 percent of Poles who share that view.
Poles therefore qualify as the most open society towards immigrants of the Visegrad 4 states, which also include Hungary and the Czech Republic, the daily SME reported.
In Hungary only 23 percent of respondents think immigrants should be enabled to settle down there.
However, 71 percent of Poles think that the country as such does not need immigrants. 70 percent of Czechs, 80 percent of Hungarians and 79 percent of Slovaks share this view.
