Police are investigating the murder of a 42-year-old paediatrician (only described by police as Zuzana V.) who was shot in the head by an unknown assailant in Bratislava on November 23, the TASR newswire reported.
“It isn't possible to provide further details due to the ongoing investigation,” said Bratislava regional police spokesman Frantisek Peczár on November 25. The woman was found with the shot to her head on Monday evening. The investigation started that same day with questioning of various witnesses.
According to the Nový Čas tabloid, police have questioned the doctor’s ex-husband who is a former football player (Richard V.). After their divorce, the ex-spouses were locked in a civil law dispute over the house and custody of their son.
According to the daily, as quoted by TASR, the proceedings were not going smoothly and the woman filed a number of legal complaints against her ex-husband and last week filed a motion that would prohibit the father from having contact with their nine-year-old son. TASR
