The police officer shot by alleged cannibal Matej Čurko on May 10 was released from the Louis Pasteur Hospital in Košice on May 30, hospital spokesperson Jaroslava Oravcová told the TASR newswire.
The officer, 37, sustained injuries to his chest and arm that required 20 days of hospital treatment during a shoot-out in Kysak in Košice region.
His assailant had allegedly come to murder a Swiss citizen who apparently wanted to die. The police had tracked e-mail communications between the two men and set a trap for Čurko, who managed to shoot the police officer despite being hit five times himself.
Čurko died of his wounds in hospital on May 12.
