THE INTERIOR Ministry charged a Nitra-based police officer who lent a police patrol car for the shooting of a music video clip accompanying the song of rapper Ramon Babka, in which men provoke the police.
“Police officer M.P. from the District Traffic Inspectorate in Nitra was charged with the misdemeanour of violating his professional duties and the misdemeanour of unauthorised use of someone else’s vehicle,” ministry spokesman Ivo Netík told the SITA newswire on March 11. He added the case is still being investigated.
Nitra Regional Police head Miroslav Michalčík informed on March 7 that the police officer, aged 26, who has served in the police corps for five years, lent the car as well as police uniforms without the consent of his superiors. “His behaviour violates all principles of police service and we will handle it seriously,” Michalčík said.
Other people featured in the video could face charges, too. The police officer will probably be laid off.
In the video, a patron of the Walhala club – a private card-playing club in Nitra said to be frequented by neo-Nazis – identified as Michal Sobolič, is seen driving the police car. Walhala regulars have twice attacked customers of the nearby Mariatchi club, a popular student hangout, the Sme daily wrote.
