Police uncover attempted tax fraud worth almost Sk100 mln.

A police operation codenamed "Pressure" carried out in cooperation with the Tax Directorate resulted in halting the drawing of unlawfully claimed VAT deductions for more than Sk97.6 million.

A police operation codenamed "Pressure" carried out in cooperation with the Tax Directorate resulted in halting the drawing of unlawfully claimed VAT deductions for more than Sk97.6 million.

Police President Ján Packa reported on the successful operation on March 25. He said that the investigator launched criminal prosecution for the crime of tax evasion and for not paying social and health insurance contributions. The case has 25 suspects aged between 30 and 35, the SITA newswire wrote. The suspects include two women, the police chief specified. Some of the suspects already have a criminal record. SITA
