Politico Europe, a Brussels-based news website, has put four-time Slovak PM and Smer party leader Robert Fico on the ‘dirty dozen’ list, which includes 12 politicians and businessmen whom the website sees as ‘would-be autocrats’, ‘dictators’ or ‘misery merchants’.

They all will attend the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland this week.

“Slovakia just can’t seem to quit Robert Fico,” Politico Europe writes about the Slovak prime minister, before reminding readers why he was ousted from office in 2018 and how he rose to power five years later again, in 2023.

The website notes that Fico’s fourth government has stopped military aid for Ukraine. It also cites ongoing investigations and trials that concern people who held public office under the previous Fico governments.
