A recent poll found that 44 percent of Slovaks are pleased with the results of the parliamentary elections on March 10, according to the results published by the Focus polling agency on its webpage, the TASR newswire wrote.
The poll also showed that 30 percent of Slovaks had a neutral attitude towards the election results while only 8 percent of the respondents were very disappointed by results.
The election results were most positively viewed by people above 65 years of age and by those living in Trenčín and Žilina regions, TASR reported, while people under 34 years of age and those with university education viewed the election results more sceptically. TASR wrote that supporters of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) were the most disappointed with the outcome, followed supporters of the Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party.
The Focus poll also indicated that up to 35 percent of the respondents believed that a single-party government of Smer is not good for the country while 47 percent thought that this was just fine. The poll was conducted among a sample of 1,028 respondents between April 2 and 10.
