APPROXIMATELY 30 percent of those surveyed say that their incomes have decreased since the introduction of the 19-percent flat income tax rate.
A daily SME survey found that only 7 percent of respondents felt that their income had increased; 40 percent said they noticed no change.
The Finance Ministry refutes people's perceptions, asserting that the parameters of the flat tax system were set in such a way that no one would experience a decrease in income due to the tax.
Despite this, people without children earning between Sk12,000 and Sk22,000 (€306 to €561) per month could be earning less, since they are not eligible for the tax credit that those with children receive.
