TWENTY-ONE percent of Slovaks buy Christmas presents with only hours to spare, a new poll carried out by the GfK Slovakia agency showed.
Some 30.3 percent of Slovaks said they started their shopping for Christmas presents two weeks before Christmas, while around a quarter of all respondents bought their presents in November, the SITA news agency wrote.
The poll also showed that one third of Slovaks plan to spend between Sk1,000 and Sk3,000 on Christmas presents (€26-79), while 19 percent planned to spend Sk3,000 to Sk5,000 (€79-131).
Thirty percent of respondents said they would buy clothes for their families and friends. The second most frequent Christmas present was cosmetics, which 28.4 percent intended to buy.
