A NEW poll carried out by the Bratislava-based Institute for Public Affairs think tank has shown that apart from their favourite party, supporters of the ruling Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) also trust the SDKÚ's coalition partners and the opposition Free Forum (SF).
On the other hand, SF supporters do not trust the SDKÚ, but instead lean toward the opposition Smer, the SME daily wrote.
The SF was established by a group of defectors from the SDKU following a bitter row over the appointment of a national security official in 2003.
The poll found that supporters of the opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) also trust Smer the most, while Smer supporters find the SF the most sympathetic of Slovakia's eight significant political parties.
Some 43 percent of respondents said that politically they favoured the centre of the political spectrum, with 25 percent describing themselves as left wing and only 14 percent as right wing.
