IF PARLIAMENTARY elections had taken place at the beginning of October, the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) would have received only 4.8 percent of the vote. Such a result would exclude it from parliament, according to a poll conducted by the MVK agency on a sample of 1,133 respondents, the SITA newswire reported.
The elections would be won by the Smer party with 40 percent of the vote, equivalent to 79 seats in parliament. Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) would place second, with 9.1 percent (18 seats).
The third highest number of votes would go to the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), attracting 8.4 percent of respondents (16 seats), followed by Most-Híd with 7.3 percent (14 seats).
New Majority, the new party being launched by former KDH MP Daniel Lipšic, recorded the same level of support as Freedom and Solidarity (SaS): 5.8 percent (12 seats).
