The digital literacy index in Slovakia increased and reached 0.44 points this year, up from 0.33 in 2005 and 0.37 in 2007, according to an annual survey by the Institute of Public Affairs (IVO) released on November 19, the TASR newswire wrote.
A total of 1,134 respondents (age 14 and older) took part in the poll, according to the project co-ordinator Martin Velšic.
Positive trends have also been observed in the area of bridging gaps between regions and computer and internet skills. Both Banská Bystrica and Žilina region have been catching up with Bratislava region in this respect recently, according to the report.
The situation has also improved over the last few years in Košice, Prešov and Trnava regions. Conversely, Trenčín and Nitra regions are still lagging behind, Velšic added. TASR.
