A Žilina District Court has sentenced Poprad Judge Miroslav Radačovský to one-year probation for illegal possession of a firearm and illicit production and possession of psychotropic substances. Radačovský can file an appeal against the verdict and the prosecution has already announced it would demand a stricter sentence, the SITA newswire reported.
The judge's trial has already lasted for 11 years. During this period the Žilina court decided on the guilt of the accused twice. However, as the charged judge successfully appealed both sentences, the case was returned to the district court. As the prosecutor has announced an appeal against the verdict, the Žilina Regional Court will make a final decision.
