PPS Detva workers protest

Around 300 people from the shut-down PPS Detva engineering factory in central Slovakia yesterday protested outside the Government Office for payment of three months’ back wages and an explanation of why a factory with lucrative contracts such as with Volvo suddenly became insolvent. PPS Detva, 100 per cent owned by arms-machinery firm DMD Holding, employs 1,800 people.
