HUMENNÉ
A prayer hot-line, established in Humenné in eastern Slovakia, has been called by over 250 people during the past year, according to Peter Michanca, an official of the evangelistic center. Michanca stated that most of the callers have been women between the ages of 35-50 who call the prayer hot-line and ask to be prayed for.
Up to 65% of all calls have been made from districts outside of Humenné. From time to time, callers from abroad- mainly from the Czech Republic- have also called the prayer hot-line. Prayer--askers have requested a variety of prayers, but the most often asked for prayers have been for the betterment of health or for the power to fight substance addictions. Other prayers have asked for the improvement of marital and family lives, the ability to forgive other sinners, the power to fight disease and the ability to solve professional problems.
Operators normally request that first-time callers keep the prayer hot-line informed as to whether or not their prayers have been answered. Over 20% have called back, expressing gratitude for answered prayers.
