PRESIDENT Ivan Gašpa-rovič is considering giving a speech on the public STV and Slovak Radio channels to call on people to participate in the June 17 elections, if he feels the vote is generating too little interest.
The president's decision may be opposed by STV and other politicians, as Gašparovič was recently named honorary chairman of the opposition Movement for Democracy.
STV manager Branislav Záhradník said STV had done a study to see whether it could legally broadcast such a speech, the SME daily reported.
