"I've requested the prime minister to make certain personnel decisions at the Military Defence Intelligence (VOS)," said Gašparovič, as quoted by TASR.

Radičová has already dismissed VOS director Pavol Brychta and released him from his duty to maintain secrecy so that he can contribute towards the investigation into the eavesdropping on journalists, the Sme daily wrote in its November 29 issue.

Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party had been insisting that its party has the right to nominate someone to the defence ministry post as dismissed minister Ľubomír Galko had been nominated by SaS in 2010.
