Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič left for a three-day official visit to Montenegro on September 12 in what will be his first visit to the country since it became independent in 2006, the TASR newswire reported.
In Podgorica, Gašparovič will discuss boosting mutual ties – especially in economic matters as well as Montenegro's efforts to join the EU and NATO. The current situation in the Western Balkans will also be addressed.
On September 13, Gašparovič is to meet Montenegrin head of state Filip Vujanovic, parliamentary chair Ranko Krivokapic and Prime Minister Igor Luksic. A large delegation is accompanying the Slovak president.
