SLOVAK President Ivan Gašparovič stressed the need for UN reform in New York on September 15. The president was speaking on the occasion of the UN’s 60th anniversary, the SITA news agency wrote.
According to the president’s spokesman, Marek Trubač, Gašparovič told the summit that the UN could not remain a “discussion club” that fails when effective solutions are required.
"The UN will only gain prestige and trustworthiness when it manages to take operative decisions to solve the acute problems of today,” said the Slovak president.
