Slovak President Andrej Kiska who assumed office one month ago is continuing his official visits to neighbouring countries, with a trip to Austria on July 17.

Kiska on July 14 paid a visit to the Czech Republic before going on to Warsaw the next day. He also went to Hungary shortly after taking up office in mid-June, Kiska’s spokesman Peter Petrus informed the TASR newswire.

The Slovak president was invited to Vienna by his counterpart Heinz Fischer. He’s also scheduled to meet Chancellor Werner Faymann and mayor of Vienna Michael Haupl.

“Current Slovak-Austrian bilateral relations are very good and without any problems.” Petrus said. “Slovakia views Austria as a very good neighbour and an important partner, mainly when it comes to the economy, having common interests at the bilateral, regional and European levels.”
