SEVERAL firms around the country received a fraudulent letter last week that invited their representatives to accompany Slovak President Rudolf Schuster on his trips abroad, promising them the opportunity to make lucrative business contacts.
In order to participate in the trips, the Slovak daily Hospodárske noviny wrote, the letter said they must send a voluntary contribution to a private account designated for a "family that lost almost all of its relatives in a tragic event during the Christmas and New Year's holiday".
The president's office warned that any companies that received the letter should not send any money to the account and recommended they turn to the police so that officers could investigate the case.
