The Prešov city council approved the sale of land to U.S.-based Honeywell Turbo, an investor planning to build an assembly plant in the local Záborské industrial park, on May 25, the TASR newswire reported. All 30 city councillors voted in favour.
Honeywell plans to produce turbochargers in Prešov, planning to create around 446 new jobs in the process. The overall investment should reach €38.3 million. The Slovak government has approved investment support reaching €19.15 million.
"Of course, we're satisfied. It's an important step towards building the plant. The construction work should progress quite rapidly," Honeywell representative Cristiano Cestaro told TASR after the council's decision.
