The prices of selected goods and services in Slovakia fell by an average of 0.2 percent between February 21 and 28, the Statistics Office announced on Tuesday, March 10.
This fall was mainly due to the prices of oils and fats falling by 3.3 percent, and those of vegetables by 1.4 percent. Conversely, the prices of bread and corn as well as those of office supplies went up by 1.2 percent, the TASR wrote.
The Statistics Office is conducting consumer-price surveys of 196 frequently purchased goods and services every ten days between August 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009, the aim being to monitor price developments up to and following euro adoption. TASR
