Prime Minister discusses new labour code with trade unions

PM Robert Fico discussed proposed changes to the Labour Code with representatives of trade unions on March 14.

He insisted that the revised Labour Code will have no negative impact on economic growth and employment. "We have to give employees the rights they deserve as citizens of an EU member," the PM said following a meeting with representatives of the Confederation of Trade Unions.

The Association of Providers of Rescue Healthcare Services claims that the draft amendment to the Labour Code may threaten conditions for urgent healthcare provided to patients by rescue services, as the draft amendment does not take into consideration the specifications of providing this type of healthcare, and restricts flexible forms of employment to a significant extent.
