The leadership of the World Lutheran Union Council gathered in the Slovak capital last week for a week long summit which centered on the use of the gospels in the process of transforming culture. The group was greeted by Slovak Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda in an opening address.
The council is the Lutheran church's main executive body, which has leadership over 124 Lutheran national churches from around the world. Three archbishops and 17 bishops attended. The group was also received by Bratislava Mayor Jozef Moravčík and President Rudolf Schuster.
