PM Mikuláš Dzurinda intends to present a plan for fine-tuning the government's reforms. The prime minister is expected to give details of those reforms that need adjustment, SITA news agency wrote.
Dzurinda first spoke about modifications to approved reforms at the beginning of the summer in connection with his Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) summer campaign, which is taking him across the country.
Dzurinda did not specify which reforms would be revised and amended. It is already clear, however, that pension reform will be among them.
"I spoke to a woman in Oravská Jesenica. She wondered if the government guarantees the pension scheme's second pillar. I took a second look at the legislation and got a new idea about how to fix the law that regulates pension savings so that it would not be confusing, and so that the second pillar would be guaranteed," Dzurinda told SITA.
The Labour Ministry, led by SDKÚ nominee Ľudovít Kaník, says he has not been informed of any changes the PM plans for the pension reform.
