PRIME Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda has sued the dailies SME and Pravda for libel, demanding Sk5 million (€123,000) in reimbursements for statements published last year about the struggle over the former head of the National Security Office, Ján Mojžiš, wrote the daily SME.
Dzurinda demands an apology for commentaries and by-lines pertaining to the case of the group that he had claimed to be harming the interest of the state.
In their pieces, journalists Marián Leško and Peter Schutz claimed that Dzurinda had illegally accessed Mojžiš’s security files.
"The statements are obviously false and their intention was to discredit Mikuláš Dzurinda," reads part of the complaint submitted by the PM's lawyer.
Several state officials have dragged SME to court, including former PM Vladimír Mečiar.
