Prices in Slovak industry continued falling in April 2014. As the latest data of the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) shows, industrial producer prices in April fell by 3.7 percent in yearly terms.
Compared to March, this meant a slightly deeper decline by 0.2 percentage points, the SITA newswire quoted from the ŠÚ. On average, over the first four months of this year, prices in the Slovak industry dropped by 3.4 percent. On a monthly basis, industrial producer prices dropped last month by 0.1 percent,
down 0.2 percent from March.
Prices of industrial producers for the domestic market decreased by 4.4
percent year-on-year. Industrial producer prices for exports fell by 3.4 percent against the same period of previous year. Since the beginning of 2014, prices for export dropped by 3.3 percent y-o-y. In monthly terms export prices in industry in April fell by 0.1 point, SITA wrote on May 28.
