This positive development was for the most part thanks to industry, which offered more new jobs than at any other time in the past 16 months. "Companies [in industry] in March published 18 percent more job vacancies than in February 2010," said Burianová, adding that this represents a notable rise of 30 percent year-on-year.

The number of job advertisements published on the website last month was the highest in the past year, and the number of vacancies rose in almost all spheres for the first time since the beginning of the economic crisis. "The figures are well short of pre-crisis levels, however," noted Burianová. Job vacancies in March rose mainly in manufacturing, the distribution of electricity, tourism, hotels and restaurants.
