Profinet, the third firm to be awarded a third-generation mobile operating license after incumbents Eurotel and Orange, has failed to pay the first installment of Sk500 million ($11 million) for the state-issued permission. The firm, whose financial backers are not known, says it is still in negotiations with an investor.
If the sum is not paid within a term set by the Telecom Office, Profinet could forfeit the license.
