Prosecutor General Dobroslav Trnka said it’s not yet clear whether any politicians’s names are on the CD of information about collapsed pyramid schemes that has just been decrypted.
The CD lists 900,000 contracts of the unlicensed deposit companies BMG and Horizont Slovakia, the Hospodárske Noviny wrote on September 14. The Slovak intelligence service (SIS) has just managed to crack the code.
The general prosecutor said he would not publicise the list of the clients.
"Maybe we will get into individual criminal prosecution, where the law does not allow us to identify suspects by their full names," he told the daily.
However, he will personally check whether the name of President Ivan Gašparovič is among the investors, the daily wrote. Former Health Minister Rudolf Zajac identified him as one of the successful clients.
The president recently withdrew his civil lawsuit against Zajac.
