THE ORGANISERS of the so-called Gorilla Protests, whose main aim is to fight against high-level political corruption, have established a new civic initiative called ‘Protest Gorilla’, which will focus on promoting their views and organising public debate. The founders of the new organisation also want to recruit new members and create a team of experts, the TASR newswire reported.
“They should participate in civil proposals for the government and parliament,” said one of the founders, Peter Pčolinský, as quoted by TASR.
Through the new organisation the founders say they will try to achieve some of their main goals, including the scrapping of MPs’ immunity from criminal prosecution, the passage of anti-corruption measures and changes to the rules for public referendums.
