French car-maker PSA Peugeot-Citroen tripled its output in Trnava on an annual basis in 2007, turning out more than 177,000 new cars, communications director Peter Švec said on February 26. According to him, the company plans to produce 200,000 cars this year, the TASR wrote.
The Slovak branch of the French company maintained its position last year as one of the group's top-quality manufacturers, and became the main supplier of the Peugeot 207 model to the German market. The firm's manufacturing programme will feature the Peugeot 207 as its sole model until early 2009, when the company plans to launch new, as yet unnamed models. The Trnava plant employs 3,300 people, while its suppliers have taken on a similar number of staff.
PSA Peugeot-Citroen Slovakia in association with the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and three vocational secondary schools has backed the professional Campus of Professions adult-training project, investing €3.4 million since its inception in 2003. TASR
