CARMAKER PSA Peugeot Citroën officially launched production at its new plant in Trnava yesterday. The company will produce the new Peugeot 207 model and by the end of this year the plant should produce around 50,000 cars.
The construction of the new plant, which was built as a green field project, cost €700 million and was launched in 2003.
The Slovak government provided incentives reaching 15 percent of the investment to the carmaker.
The plant should gradually employ 3,500 people while another 6,500 jobs should be created in supplier firms, Sme wrote.
