Production at the Trnava-based car-manufacturing plant owned by PSA Peugeot Citroen Slovakia was halted for a day on Monday, January 28, due to falling demand for new cars, the TASR newswire was told by the company's spokesman, Peter Švec, on the same day.
Another four non-production days are scheduled for February, said Švec, adding that the plan for 2013 is still to produce more vehicles than in 2012, when output reached 215,000. Demand for new cars has been gradually decreasing in Europe, according to an analysis carried out by the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA).
