Employees of Trnava’s PSA Peugeot Citroën auto assembly plant are at home because the firm suspended production due to a lack of components from abroad, the SITA newswire reported. The company will decide its next steps on September 20.
“In spite of mobilisation and effort by the whole PSA we have not managed to prevent the suspension of production,” said Ivana Pavelková, spokesperson for PSA, as quoted by SITA, adding that in spite of the suspended production the employees will receive their regular salaries and bonuses.
The company also said it will continue hiring new people for a third shift.
