The other wonders of the region are the Kláštor (Monastery) in Hronský Beňadik, the entire town of Banská Štiavnica, the Čierny Hron forest railway, Špania Dolina mining village, the mint in Kremnica and the articular wooden Protestant church in Hronsek.

Maňka invited representatives from all the winning sites to his office to receive his congratulations and their official certificates. He also drew three names from among the 2,700 people who had voted in the competition.

“These three winners will be invited by the president of the region and by our MEP [member of the European Parliament] to visit Brussels or Strasbourg in September,” the region’s spokesman, Peter Hajnala, told the TASR newswire.
